Can VCI rust preventive paper be reused? Let's find out.

VCI rust preventive paper uses neutral pH pure wood pulp kraft paper, infused with VCI chemical components, and is made into sheets or rolls. A barrier coating, such as wax or polyethylene, can also be added to increase protection against moisture, grease/oil, or gauze coatings. It is used for metal protection.

Good metal protection is affected by many factors. Generally, most VCI rust preventive paper is not reusable.
1. Risk of insufficient residual VCI: There is no way to determine the volatilization rate of VCI from the product. Conversely, there is no way to determine if the remaining VCI is sufficient for reuse.
2. Risk of environmental and time uncertainty: There is no way to track or monitor the time and/or environmental conditions to which the VCI product was exposed in previous uses, which could be used to determine if the reused rust preventive paper is still effective.
3. Risk of contamination: Reusing VCI products can cause contaminants on or in the VCI packaging to adhere to the metal parts.
After long-term tracking and verification, VCI paper with RUSTERMIN characteristics can be considered for reuse as rust preventive paper.
1. Double-sided VCI coating, with more than double the content of ordinary rust preventive paper.
2. The initial release of VCI is fast, allowing VCI to form a protective environment on the surface of metal parts more quickly, but the amount of residual VCI can also reach the amount of ordinary rust preventive paper.
2. Neutral kraft paper is environmentally friendly, fully recyclable, and will not harm recycling workers.
3. The material is soft but very strong, easy to recycle and repackage.
4. VCI rust preventive paper using RUSTERMIN rust prevention technology has a faint fragrance and is easy to visually identify.
5. It is recommended that VCI rust preventive paper be tested according to the GB/T 19532 2008 quality standard before use, which is equivalent to simulating the rust prevention ability of VCI before reuse after initial use. Using this RUSTERMIN rust preventive paper, we can ensure that the rust preventive paper after normal use can be reused without contamination.
We conducted a test. VCI rust preventive paper was packaged in Location A, boxed, and shipped to Location B. After 3 months, it was returned for reuse of the recycled packaging. Through testing, it was found that the rust prevention ability decreased by about one-fourth. After reuse, there was no rust in Location B. Three months later, we tested the recycled rust preventive paper in Location A again and found that it only had 30% of its original rust prevention ability. Therefore, we can confirm that the attenuation of RUSTERMIN rust prevention ability is accelerated. As for workshop process rust prevention, we have conducted tests and found that after five cycles of use in summer or one month, the rust prevention ability decreases to about one-fourth of the new rust preventive paper.
Through the above analysis and research, we can objectively judge that the reuse of rust preventive paper is feasible. Starting with improving the rust prevention quality of VCI rust preventive paper and combining recycled packaging to avoid contamination, VCI rust preventive paper can be reused.
