In industry, it also includes copolymers of ethylene and some -olefins. It is a shiny plastic bag that can be used to package clothing, luggage, electronic products, etc.
Polyethylene has low-temperature resistance (application temperature can reach -70~-100), good chemical stability, can be corroded by most acids and alkalis (not resistant to oxidizing acids), is insoluble in general solvents at room temperature, has low water absorption, and has electrical insulation function*; however, polyethylene is very sensitive to environmental stress (chemical and mechanical action) and has poor heat aging resistance.
Different types of polyethylene have different properties, mainly depending on the molecular structure and density. Different production methods can obtain products with different densities (0.91 ~ 0.96 g/cm³). Polyethylene can be processed using the molding methods of ordinary thermoplastic plastics (see plastic processing).

HDPE: The product is a non-toxic, odorless, odorless white granule with a melting point of about 130 and a relative density of 0.941-0.965. Heat resistance and cold resistance. Good chemical stability, high rigidity and electrical resistance, good mechanical strength, good dielectric properties, and resistance to environmental stress cracking.
