The function and technical principle of anti-rust bag packaging

Metal materials and products are at risk of corrosion during daily storage, transportation, and use. If the exposed surface of metal products is exposed to the atmosphere for a long time without protection, it may corrode and rust due to the humidity or pollutants in the air. However, once metal products corrode and rust, it may affect their appearance, quality, and function. Rust prevention bags are made of rust-proof materials to avoid corrosion and other hazards to metal materials and products during storage and transportation.

Depending on the corrosive medium, it can be divided into atmospheric corrosion, seawater corrosion, underground corrosion, bacterial corrosion, etc. Atmospheric corrosion is a common problem in rust prevention bag packaging engineering, and it causes serious damage to corroded metal materials and products. According to tests, if steel corrodes by 1%, its strength will decrease by 5%~10%, and thin steel plates are more likely to lose their use value due to corrosion perforation. The losses of metal products caused by corrosion far exceed the value of the materials used.

Therefore, in order to reduce the losses caused by metal corrosion, rust prevention bag packaging technology is a technical process that prevents metal products from rusting during storage and transportation by using suitable rust prevention materials and packaging methods.

Rust prevention bag packaging technology principle.

(1) Rust preventive oil rust prevention bag packaging technology. Atmospheric corrosion is the result of the electrochemical action of oxygen, water vapor, and other harmful gases in the air on the metal surface. If the metal surface is isolated from various factors that cause atmospheric corrosion (that is, protecting the metal surface), the purpose of preventing atmospheric corrosion of metals can be achieved. Rust preventive oil packaging technology is based on this principle to seal the metal to prevent corrosion.

Using rust preventive oil to encapsulate metal products requires a certain oil layer thickness, good oil layer continuity, and complete coating. Different types of rust preventive oil should be coated using different methods.

(2) Vapor phase rust prevention bag packaging technology. Vapor phase rust prevention bag packaging technology is a technology that uses vapor phase corrosion inhibitors (volatile corrosion inhibitors) to prevent rust on metal products in sealed packaging containers. A vapor phase corrosion inhibitor is a substance that can slow down or completely stop the metal destruction process in a corrosive medium. It is easily volatile at room temperature. In a sealed packaging container, the corrosion inhibitor gas that volatilizes or sublimates in a short time can fill every corner and gap in the entire packaging container, and at the same time adsorb on the surface of the metal product, thereby inhibiting the corrosion of the metal by the atmosphere.

Rust preventive oil: thin layer rust preventive oil, wax film rust preventive oil, water-soluble rust preventive oil, volatile rust preventive oil, displacement rust preventive oil, sealed rust preventive oil, etc.
