The principle is relatively simple: food spoilage is mainly caused by the activity of microorganisms, and most microorganisms (such as mold and yeast) require oxygen to survive. In vacuum packaging, this principle is used to remove oxygen from the packaging bag and food cells, thereby depriving microorganisms of their survival environment.
Experiments show that when Vacuum bag the oxygen concentration is ≤1%, the growth and reproduction rate of microorganisms will decrease sharply. When the oxygen concentration in the vacuum bag is ≤0.5%, most microorganisms will stop reproducing.
In addition to controlling the growth and reproduction of microorganisms, vacuum deoxygenation is another important function in preventing food oxidation. Because oils contain a large amount of unsaturated fatty acids, they will be oxidized under the action of oxygen, causing the food to produce an unpleasant odor and spoil. In addition, oxidation will also lead to the loss of vitamins A and C, and unstable substances in edible pigments will be affected by oxygen, causing the color to darken. Therefore, deoxygenation can effectively prevent food spoilage.
When using Vacuum bag the following points should be noted:
Do not scratch with sharp objects. If there are hard objects such as buttons and zippers in the stored items, fold them and place them in the storage bag. Clothes, quilts and other items should be placed in the bag as much as possible, at least 3-5 centimeters away from the sealed zipper, and do not forcefully stuff large items into the bag. To ensure the hygiene of the sealed zipper part, if fibers and dust enter, the sealing function will be reduced. It is recommended to clean the zipper after cleaning with water-soaked gauze.
Use the threaded interface of the air pump and rotary pump, and pay attention to them before and after inflation. The red rubber seal on the air intake ensures that there is no air leakage at the interface. Usually, a large Vacuum bag needs to be pumped for 3 to 5 minutes. Usually, three to five hundred pieces are needed to achieve a flat appearance. After drawing, check the seal again to ensure it is sealed.
